Caesars Head State Park
and Raven Cliff Falls
Less than a mile from the house! One of the high
spots of the Upcountry in beauty and distance visibility as well as elevation.
At 3,208 feet, this park, with its rocky promontories, visitors center
and hiking trails, is the hub of the states Mountain Bridge Recreation
and Wilderness Area. Barring fog and haze, an eagles eye view here
scans the great sweep of the Blue Ridge. North about a mile on the highway
is the parking area for the two-mile trail to Raven Cliff Falls. |
Table Table Rock State Park
S.C. 11 between S.C. 8 and U.S. 178,
N. of Pickens
Probably the Upcountrys
best-known landmark, the rounded dome of Table Rock Mountain shelters one
of the states oldest and most popular parks. Camping, boating, fishing,
swimming, carpet golf, nature trails and summit hikes, summer dances, a
restaurant and nature programs have drawn record numbers of
visitors. |
